Here we have an original painting by Philadelphia artist Gerardo Belfiore titled “Distant City,” as noted on the original label affixed to the reverse. Executed in a heavily textured impasto style, the composition evokes a rugged, almost geological terrain.
at bridges landscape and abstraction, simultaneously suggesting decay and renewal.
The piece remains in its original wood frame from A. and N. Framing, Somerdale, NJ, with the period kraft-paper backing still present (torn in one corner).
Condition: Good overall for age. Some spotting to the inner frame lip and small losses in the textured surface near the lower edge; backing paper torn in lower right corner. Presents very well and is structurally sound.
