Vintage Golfer's Prayer Wooden Sign - Mid-Century Golf Decor - Al Geiberger

For sale is a vintage 1950's wooden Golfer's Prayer sign with a winking golf ball on a patch of grass. The prayer is in black, all caps font with a smiley face golf club head and a pinkish red flag with "19" on it adorning the prayer. The prayer reads as follows:

"LORD GIVE ME GRACE
TO MAKE A SCORE
SO LOW THAT EVEN I
WHEN TALKING OF IT
AFTERWARDS
MAY NEVER NEED TO LIE!"

This poem is typical of mid-century fishing and golfing prayer decor, and is all-wood. Apparently former PGA golfer Al Geiberger also had this plaque hanging in his family home in the  1950's  while he was growing up well before he was the first man to score a 59 on the PGA Tour in 1977. Other variations have the flag with the 19 in different colors but ours is pinkish red.

The sign is 12 1/2" long by 10 1/2" wide.  Made by Shoreline Studios,

Condition: This wooden sign is in vintage, good condition. There is some wear and a few light scratches on top and bottom of the sign that you can see if you're close. Please see photos as an extension of our written description.
