Vintage Peacock Art Shell Mosaic Shadow Box Framed Signed Republic of China Taiwan
We are offering a vintage shell mosaic, measuring about 12.75”wide x 18.75” high x 0.75” deep.
This piece depicts a blue peacock sitting on a branch, constructed entirely out of shells and urchin spines. The style evokes traditional ink brush painting, including a traditional signature. The piece is in its original shadow box frame, with a lovely brass hanger. The back is marked “Made in Taiwan/ Rep. of China”. This piece is the perfect addition to any collection.
Very good condition with minimal age-related wear. There is a small crack in the glass at the bottom of the frame which should not compromise the integrity of the piece, and some scratches around the wood. Two urchin spines have fallen to the bottom of the shadow box.
