Vintage Rumford Baking Powder Crate Sign “Keep In Dry Place” Wood Hanging
Today we have a vintage/antique Rumford Baking Powder sign, featuring the bold stenciled warning “KEEP IN DRY PLACE.” This piece appears to be an authentic panel from a dovetail shipping crate, later adapted for wall display with a hanging chain attached to the reverse. Really cool and unique.
The board shows classic finger-joint/box-joint/dovetail construction at both ends, consistent with early to mid-20th-century Rumford commercial crate manufacturing. We believe this panel would likely date back to the 20's-30's, but cannot confirm. We'd imagine mid century at the latest.
A strong decorative example suitable for kitchen, pantry, bakery, general store, or any environment looking to tie together their farmhouse inspired displays.
