Antique Erzgebirge German Putz Christmas Village Miniature Wood Figurine Lot

Charming antique Erzgebirge “Putz” Christmas village assortment featuring hand-carved and hand-painted wooden figures, animals, buildings, and town accessories. “Putz” villages were traditionally arranged beneath Christmas trees or around nativity scenes, creating small winter landscapes populated with homes, churches, animals, trees, and villagers. The term derives from the German word putzen, meaning “to decorate.” 18 total pieces.

This lot displays many classic characteristics of early Erzgebirge folk art, including brightly painted geometric houses, stylized peg-form villagers, hand-whittled animals, and turned trees. The church with red steeple and printed gothic windows is particularly attractive, while the tiny horseman and painted livestock add strong visual character.

*Condition*
Good condition but varies throughout the set with expected age-related wear, paint loss, surface marks, small chips, and imperfections consistent with antique handmade holiday miniatures. A few pieces show heavier wear and age patina. Overall presents very well as a display group with excellent primitive Christmas charm. Please see photos for further condition, as well as scale.
