We are offering a pair of antique Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints, measuring about 9.75” x 12.75” in the frame.
Each piece is attributed to a different artist, but both go perfectly together. Each print features a young woman in a beautiful kimono alongside her child.
The print of the woman in the purple kimono is attributed to the master artist Toyokuni III (also known as Kunisada).
The pieces are believed to be from the Edo Period, circa 1850s-1860s.
The frames are an understated mid-century style, one dark wood and one black with slightly rounded corners.
This pair is the perfect addition to any collection.
Very good to excellent condition with minimal age-related wear. One piece has some water staining to the matting paper, which does not affect the print itself.
