Antique Oyster Plate Pink Majolica Geometric Continental Porcelain Handpainted & ELD Signed
Today we have a beautiful Majolica Geometric Continental porcelain oyster plate in octagonal form with five raised oyster shell wells and one raised pink scallop shell well for sauces or lemon slices. The plate has a glossy white porcelain body with hand-painted oyster shell details in pink and lavender. The rim and scallop shell are accented with heavy gilt decoration.
Marked on the underside with a hand-painted gilt “ELD” monogram/signature. Exact maker not confirmed.
The form and decoration give it a nice late 19th to early 20th century Continental oyster plate look, with strong display appeal.
