Vintage 1967 Gibson EB-2 DC Semi-Hollow Short Scale Electric Bass Guitar~100% Original~Cherry Red Finish~A TRUE RELIC w/OHSC

We have a beautiful, vintage 1967 Gibson EB-2 DC semi-hollow body short scale electric bass in her cherry finish, complete with her original lined hard case. A great looking, naturally relic’ed example of Gibson’s classic double-cutaway short-scale bass with fantastic tonal options.
This EB-2 DC is the double-pickup, cherry finish version of the EB-2. The official Gibson catalog describes the EB-2 series as having a curly maple arched top, back and body edges with ivoroid binding; a slim neck joining the body at the 18th fret; one-piece Honduras mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod; rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays; and an adjustable combination bridge/tailpiece. The EB-2 design also features Gibson’s bass/baritone pushbutton for alternate tonal characteristics.
Specs & General Info
SN # 105102; is impressed on top rear of headstock, & also hand written on the interior Gibson label. Distinctive double Venetian cutaway body, twin f-holes, bound body, rosewood fingerboard with MOP dot inlays, 2 volume/2 tone knobs, 3 way pickup selector switch, bass/baritone control, Gibson chrome bridge/tailpiece assembly w mute and four large, open-gear bass tuners. The original style Gibson guarantee label remains visible inside the body. Also present inside is an older label reading “Repaired By Guitar Hospital, Glendora, NJ”, from the 1970’s.
This axe is 100% original.

Condition:
Cosmetically, this is a well played, vintage instrument with age-related cosmetic wear. The cherry finish has weather checking/crazing across the front, back, sides, neck and headstock. There are plenty of noticeable scratches, scuffs, dings, finish chips and areas of finish wear throughout. Most notably, there is a sizable area of buckle rash exhibiting finish loss on the back, along with several smaller finish losses and chips elsewhere on the back and neck. The neck shows checking and scattered worn/chipped areas. Frets are still meaty w mucho life left! The headstock face also displays checking, scratches and edge wear. The ivoroid body binding has age-related discoloration from oxidation, (which to us is a beautiful visual), scratches and scattered wear. Hardware shows normal age and decades of usage wear. As usual, both chrome pick up covers are AWOL. They are easily available online.
This is a great, naturally relic'd iconic bass. Please examine all photos closely for the exact cosmetic condition.
How did she get to this relic’d state?? The single owner bought her brand new & played her for 1000’s of hours gigging in smoke filled clubs, bars, parties, weddings, etc. for 5+ decades on the east coast of the US.
This bass was professionally serviced; she underwent a basic professional setup by Dave Fecca Guitar Repair of Moorestown. NJ. Normal maintenance tasks that were performed included cleaning & polishing of the instrument, neck and action adjustment, intonation work, nut-slot adjustment, fret sanding/buffing and extensive cleaning of the electronics, including work to the switches and potentiometers, and adjusted the truss rod. The mute no longer properly functions due to the lowered action. During the bass’s inspection & set up, Dave needed to set the bridge down to its lowest position, thus, the mute lever is now fixed & is not functional. Oh, the things we do to obtain lower action.
