This piece has a great primitive, folk art, apothecary, or rustic kitchen display look. It appears best suited for decorative use rather than food preparation due to age, surface wear, interior residue/discoloration, and visible checking/cracks in the wood.
Condition:
Good vintage/antique condition with heavy age-related wear throughout. Wood shows surface scratches, finish loss, darkening, patina, drying cracks/checking, and small losses/irregularities, especially to the base underside. Metal studs and plates show oxidation, tarnish, dents, and discoloration. Pestle shows wear, finish loss, and patina from age/use. Please see photos for details.
