Vintage Royal Copenhagen white bisque porcelain relief plaque based on a design by renowned Danish Neoclassical sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen.
The circular plaque depicts “Winter,” also known as “Old Age,” from Thorvaldsen’s Four Seasons series.
Finely molded in matte white bisque porcelain. It is mounted against a blue-ish velvet backing beneath glass and housed in a molded gilt-finished wood frame. No factory marks are visible while the plaque remains enclosed.

Vintage condition with visible age-related wear. The porcelain plaque appears intact from the front, with no obvious cracks or major chips observed. There is scattered surface soiling. The velvet backing has pronounced mottling, discoloration, dust, and impressions. The gilt frame shows extensive scratches, scuffs, spotting, finish loss, edge wear, and small chips. The paper dust cover on the reverse is torn and , exposing blue velvet and the underlying mounting materials. Hanging wire is present. Please review all photographs closely.
